Welcome to the Department of Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics is the oldest department of the university, established in 1994 with M.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes. The Dual Degree B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics - M.Sc. Mathematics programme was introduced in the 2016-17 academic session. Mathematics is a foundational subject with applications in all fields of Science and Technology. Students from our department have opportunities to pursue careers in teaching, research at educational institutions, and R&D divisions in industries.
The department has a well-equipped computing lab and regularly organizes workshops, conferences, and seminars to enhance students' skills. Due to its strong research output and academic progress, the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, recognized it under the DST-FIST Program-2017, Level-I, for five years.

To excel in the applications of mathematics in Science & Engineering, highlighting its essential role in the modern world.
Mission
Develop the mathematical aptitude of students and faculty.
Encourage the pursuit of knowledge, passion, and the strengths of mathematicians.
Promote quality research for societal betterment.
