The Department of Mass Communication at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, stands as a distinguished and leading department within the institution, reflecting both academic excellence and industry relevance. Staffed by a distinguished faculty comprising four Professors, one Associate Professor, and two Assistant Professors, the department benefits from their extensive teaching and research experience in communication and media studies, ensuring that students receive both foundational knowledge and exposure to the latest industry trends. The department’s alumni network is a testament to its impact, with graduates holding influential positions in national news media, academia, and in public relations and advertising roles across both government and private sectors, thereby contributing significantly to the media landscape at multiple levels.
State-of-the-art infrastructure supports the department’s academic and practical training objectives. The production studio is fully equipped for news reading and advanced editing, providing students with hands-on experience in media production and broadcast, which is essential for building professional competencies. The department’s academic portfolio is robust, offering a range of programmes including the Ph.D. in Mass Communication, M.A. in Mass Communication, and a five-year integrated B.A. (Hons./Hons. with Research) – M.A. in Mass Communication, catering to diverse academic interests and career aspirations.
